Urologist or liver specialist?55yr old M w/ dark colored urine, bloated stomach, sometimes eyes get red/yellow?

My 55 yr old husband has dark colored urine, bloated stomach even if he doesnt eat much and sometimes his eyes become very red and/or yellowish. The bloating and dark colored urine started 3 yrs ago while the occional eyes reddening has been there since I knew him (6 yrs). He is Chinese so he he justifies his yellowish skin and eyes color. Five years ago, he went for prostate screening and colonoscopy but everything was negative. His last executive checkup was done 5 yrs ago (negative also) but he has regular/annual blood, urine and stool test that doctor says normal the last one being a yr ago. I wanted to bring him to a liver specialist but all the hospital staff suggested I go to a urologist. I do my own reading from the net but do they know better? Should i bring him to a liver specialist or to a urologist? He doesnt smoke and he has stopped drinking (only 1 btl of beer occionally) although there was a time that he was really into heavy hard drinking. He now eats only nodles, rice, fruits and vegetables, rarely eats meat.
