What are the steps to go from reserve to active duty as a officer?

I am currently a MP officer serving a ADOS (active duty for operational support) contract. I enjoy being on active duty but at this current duty station it is placing me behind the learning curve of all my MP peers. I want to serve probaly 2 terms. I enlisted when i was 17 so i can retire (20 years) at 37. I have been told that im locked into this contract with no possibility of active duty, if thats the case im screwed. Is there any way to get active duty? and if so where do i start?
