Help with apple peel 520?

I recently got the newest version of the apple peel 520, the one made of silicon, and found to my dismay that when i plug my headphones in, all options of changing the volume disappeared. I have no way of changing the volume and i have found that it is stuck at the volume in the middle. I was wondering if i could somehow fix this. Also i was wondering if the Apple Peel 520 coems with warranty.
