Abandonment of belongings?

My ex-boyfriend moved out over a year ago. He is just now asking for his belongings back. Can he get them back at this time. I sent him an e-mail a year ago that he needed to get everything out. (I didn't have a phone number at this time) I did not recieve an e-mail back from him.
