Truck Debris & Liability?

I live in Washington State, and in this state the laws on securing loads have changed since a woman was facially deformed and left totally blind by a falling unsecured load. Since this law is good ONLY in our state, I think it is probably true there is no federal law regarding unsecured load, and there may be no state law in the state you live in. If this 'distresses' you in any way, I suggest you gather friends who think the same and write to the legislators in your state, or get an initiative on the ballot to get secured loads made mandatory, and putting the 'fault' on those whose loads are not secure. Beware, because there are many who drive pick-up trucks who think they should be 'free' from these laws ... but peoples' lives are in danger when ALL loads are not secured properly.
